Excellent vocal qualities and a very exclusive stamp characterize the Cuban singer Ivette Cepeda, who has been given standing ovations across national stages and is known as one of the most important artists on the scene today.

Although she does not have an academic knowledge of music, she is capable of enriching the most diverse musical styles. Using a range of nuances and modulations, the singer performs different genres such as the ‘son’, bolero, jazz, bossa nova and above all fusion.

Excellent vocal qualities and a very exclusive stamp characterize the Cuban singer Ivette Cepeda, who has been given standing ovations across national stages and is known as one of the most important artists on the scene today.In her artistic career that spans more than 15 years she has dealt with music from important composers such as Tom Jobin, Caetano Veloso, Agustín Lara, Cole Porter, Gershwin, Vinicius de Moraes, Rafael Hernández, Joaquín Sabina, Joan Manuel Serrat, Miguel Matamoros, and Juan Formell. Moreover she has performed music from other Cuban singer-songwriters like Pablo Milanés, Silvio Rodríguez, Vicente Feliú, Amaury Pérez Vidal, David Álvarez, Kelvis Ochoa, Raúl Torres and others.

Her power on the stage has allowed the author of albums such as Estaciones (seasons-2010), Una ventana entre dos (One window between two-2011) and Miracle (2012) to introduce herself across important international stages.

Among her successes abroad we find her concert in Paris in 2011 in the Centre of Arts of the French community Enghien-les-Bains which ended up being made into a CD-DVD named ‘A Cuban in Paris’.

During her travels through other countries in 1994 she shared her beautiful contralto voice in a tour across various countries in Africa with the band Raíces Cubanas. She also became part of the cast of the Cuban - Bahamas production ‘Caribe’ (Caribbean) performed especially for the Crystal Palace Hotel in Nassau (1998-2000).

During 2006 she worked as a soloist for the Pullmantur Company accompanied by the band ‘Traje Nuevo’ (New Suit) on the Blue Moon cruise liner which traveled through the Baltics and the Mediterranean. The following year she toured the north of Spain with the show ‘Son del Trópico’ (They’re From The Tropics).

In 2009, accompanied by the band ‘Reflexión’ (Reflection) who she is grateful to for her successes, she went on tour in Denmark, Germany and Switzerland and in 2010 – during the promotion of her album ¨Estaciones¨ (Seasons)- she went on tour through Europe, Canada, Japan and Argentina.

This singer and teacher of training who comes from the central Cuban province Sancti Spíritus is considered to be neither a bolero singer nor a salsa singer who touches the hearts of those who listen to her music because as she herself confessed: ‘my performance is always the bridge between the public and me, they give me everything and I simply give it back’.
